This is from a picture I found on the web and rather liked, however I have lost the name of the artist that is not on the picture and now have no reference to it. It is trying to give an impression of a cold late afternoon whilst not being over detailed, for which I think I may not have the patience .
This is mist in the Bray Valley, Exmoor with the sunlight filling it with orange light and giving the whole scene “softness” (hopefully). I wasn’t that unhappy with it until I scanned it in and my scanner has made the burnt sienna colour much more orange than it really is – honest. However, I do feel inspired to try out other misty scenes
There I was on the towpath looking at all these incredibly soft white and fluffy seedpods (are they?) when a couple of runners came pounding up. Despite their close connection with the Club I have chosen to leave them out. The snowstorm effect is lost a bit in the lovely bright sunlight of that evening but as you will have gethered I do like this sort of scene. (Heavy use of masking fluid I’m afraid Dave)

Thanks for your feedback. I’ve tried to take out some of the blue on the ground and slightly strengthen the legs and parts of the chickens. The background, Dave, is done by laying colours wet in wet and then putting scrunched up cling film on top. When it dries you get the effect you see. Unfortunately it leaked over the chickens, but never mind.
