Aunty Doris would have approved

Its all a matter of good taste to a Papua New Guinea gentlemen. My Aunty Doris would have approved.

img095This is a pudding I made for friends back in November.  It started off as a bramble fool  in a shot glass and by the evening had mutated into Bramble Eton Mess and I think Jane, Robert and I had more fun preparing it than eating it.  I thought it tasted good though! Yes, a bit of a quick sketch and I wish I’d spent a bit more time on it, but there you go.

taste3A taste of Spring and of outdoor painting for some members of the watercolour club on Tuesday at the pond in West End.

Stretching a topic  here? I am a bit behind.

taste1Gardeners’ taste in annuals differ, and I’ve tried to convey the different styles of plant by using different styles of painting. Rudbeckia and doronicums I used glazes of colour, no mixing. Nigella I used masking fluid and wet in wet, plus some scratching with a scalpel. Both methods were a bit slow for my impatient soul – maybe I should have painted impatiens!

Bad Taste

Bad Taste

Nigella spoils a good lunch by yapping on her mobile

taste2I’m hoping that butterflies do taste nectar, or I will be contravening the rules here ( doing a Suemid?) The background got more and more messy, I didn’t know how to rescue it.
