img0362I’ve enjoyed doing several sky and cloud studies today – some of evening floaty clouds and this one of more scudding (good word eh!) clouds.  I wouldn’t mind putting a second picture up to show the difference.  This is based on a photo of mine taken when I was a Bosham earlier this year.  Please please please ignore the rest of the painting, it was just put in to give some context to the sky.  Anyway after “Peacockgate” this has made me a little more confident.

As everyone else has used my ideas, I have had to resort to my wardrobe!

This is a tree in my garden, I’m not sure about the branches, they don’t look very solid. I had fun with the bark which I have never really noticed before.

Hmmmm. I should have spent more time on composition. Correction, i should have spent any time at all on the composition. I saw the chair and cushions and thought. ‘that will do’. The cushions are crushed velvet and the chair a sort of velour. Also our new tufted rug crept into the picture. I ran out of patience by the time I painted the wood floor which was going to be a contrasting shiny texture with wood grain – maybe I will have another go. I am more pleased by the lighting on the chair than the textures.

I’m sorry that you are having to see so much of my home and its contents. My only excuse is that we’ve been battered by weather normally only seen off Cape Horn, so apart from the textures of rain lashing the window and leaves shooting past in the gale, I was stuck with what I had in the house.
