The Blue Mosque Istanbul

The Blue Mosque Istanbul

Painted from our hotel window. I didn’t have my proper watercolour pad so this was painted on a cartridge type of paper – and it shows. I am putting this up to show I actually did a painting on holiday.

Blue Mosque at Sunset

I could see this as a print on a tacky tea cloth sold to tourists in the bazaar for 1 turkish lira. I left it behind because the hotel had a small collection of Blue Mosque paintings by past residents under the glass tops of their breakfast tables (and I didn’t want to keep it!). Not sure they will keep mine although most of the others were not that brilliant. I am also posting a slightly more romantic photo view of the mosque taken from the same vantage point.
