A lone hawthorn

Good idea Viv! Here is my version of light also painted on the watercolour club day out. After everyone had sloped off home early (amateurs – no stamina) I finsihed my main picture and then scouted around for an easier subject which I could paint more quickly. This hawthorn (easily spotted from the Bushy House car park because of its unusual shape) stood out against the yellow grass. I attempted to get some of the savannah like brightness of the scene. I think the grass was more successful than the tree. It is one of the rare occasions when the scan seems to have improved my painting.
