A bit of a late entry here, but I couldn’t find anything to inspire me until a photo on the BBC website showing commuters walking to work during the tube strike, caught my eye. Bit worrying that the person on the left, seems to be trying to stop everyone coming towards them

The grey shape does have a sinister air, it reminded me of the shark appearing over the gunwhales in Jaws. In fact it would be a good painting to give to a writing group to inspire stories – what is the shape, who is the person at the front and is it a warning or a greeting he’s giving?

I have found myself that getting the effect of crowds of people is difficult. I’m not entirely clear what the big grey blob is. The whole thing has a bleakness about it – which is certainly how commuting can be.

I like the colours and the fuzziness of the commuters. I think it would be nice to see some of the other monolithic buildings that they could be going to toil in, in the skyline.

Could be aliens landing with their spaceship in the background. Very atmospheric with a mysterious air. They zombie like walk is typical of early morning commuters.
